      “Everyone can sing!” –Juan

In addition to his performances as a concert and opera singer, Juan Lago has been teaching solo singing for many years and passes on his knowledge with passion. His extensive pedagogical knowledge of singing and many years of experience enable him to train his students professionally, vocally and musically in all styles. After teaching solo singing at various music schools at home and abroad, including at the Zurich University of Education, he founded the Classic Vocal Studio in 2011 to realize his own vision of vocal training. The Classic Vocal Studio has since developed into one of the leading singing schools in Switzerland.

      Stage experience
After graduating from high school, the bass-baritone Juan Lago studied singing at the Zurich University of the Arts and, during his training, received his first engagement at the Lucerne City Theater, where he gained his first stage experience. In Switzerland and Germany he sang opera roles such as Leporello, Figaro, Papageno and Don Giovanni. In Nino Rota's children's opera "Aladdin and the Magic Lamp" he embodied the evil magician in the Volkshaus Zurich and the Tonhalle St. Gallen. For Giuseppe Verdi's 200th birthday, he sang arias from “Macbeth” and “Don Carlos” in gala concerts in St. Moritz and Pontresina. Due to his broad repertoire and his extensive language skills (in addition to his mother tongues Spanish and German, he is fluent in Italian, French and English), he has also often appeared as a concert singer in sacred works at home and abroad, including Mozart's Requiem and Mozart's Coronation Mass in Salzburg Cathedral, in Haydn's Creation among numerous oratorios, as well as in Schubert's B major Mass during the Salzburg Summer Festival.
