Brief profile:
Sascha Litschi is a versatile concert and opera singer who performs regularly in a wide variety of musical contexts – from recitals and church services to large-scale concert projects.
He collaborates with ensembles such as the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, the Zurich Concert Choir, and the FreeOpera Company.
Alongside his classical work, he is deeply involved in advanced vocal techniques such as overtone singing, which he studied with Wolfgang Saus.
In his teaching, he places great emphasis on the connection between technique, musical expression, and personal development.
Artistic background:
Sascha Litschi was born in Zurich in 1995 and began his vocal training during his school years as part of his classical high school diploma under Dr. Amadeus Bärtsch. He gained early stage experience in various projects, including with the Zurich Mozart Society and at the St. Jakob Organ Night. He studied singing at the Zurich University of the Arts with Prof. Lina Maria Åkerlund, where he earned both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Music Education as well as a specialized Master's degree in Performance (Soloist). He also received important artistic inspiration through masterclasses with José van Dam, Margreet Honig, and Prof. Joseph Breinl.
His artistic work encompasses a broad repertoire that regularly takes him to concert stages and into a wide variety of musical projects. He performs in several languages and collaborates with ensembles such as the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, the Zurich Concert Choir, and the FreeOpera Company.
A particular focus of his work lies in the connection between music and expression. This attitude shapes both his own artistic practice and his teaching: music should not only be technically mastered, but experienced and understood as a living form of expression.
